Comparison of glass bottle frosting process and sand blasting process

Sandblasting is a kind of work that uses compressed air as the power to push abrasive to the surface of the workpiece for treatment. This is known as sandblasting, also known as shot blasting cleaning. Because sand was the only abrasive available in the early days of shot peening, shot peening was known as sandblasting at the time and for a long time thereafter. Sandblasting can give the surface to be cleaned the desired cleanliness and a certain roughness, and improve the adhesion of the coating on the base surface. No matter how good the coating is, it will not adhere to the workpiece surface without a long time of surface treatment. The purpose of surface pretreatment is to clean the surface and produce the roughness required to "lock" the coating to the surface. When the surface of the sandblasted workpiece is coated with a good industrial coating, the service life of the coating is 3.5 times longer than that of the same quality coating on the surface treated by other methods. Another advantage of sandblasting (shot peening) is that the surface roughness can be predetermined on request and can be achieved during the cleaning process.


Sanding is the process by which glass bottles, such as cosmetic bottles, become smooth and unsmooth, causing light to shine diffusely on the surface. In chemical frosts, glass is mechanically or manually ground with emery, silica sand, pomegranate powder, and other abrassers to form a uniform rough surface, or glass and other objects can be treated with hydrofluoric acid solution to form frosted glass.


Both matte and sandblast are used to cover the glass surface, allowing light to scatter relatively evenly through the lamp shade. It is difficult for the average user to distinguish between these two technologies. The following describes how each of these technologies is manufactured and how to identify them.


1. The scrub process


Sanding is when glass is dipped into a prepared acidic liquid (or coated with an acidic paste), and the surface of the glass is corroded with a strong acid. The ammonia fluoride in the strong acid solution makes the surface of the glass crystal. Therefore, if the sanding process is done well, the surface of the frosted glass is very smooth, and the crystals formed by scattering produce a hazy effect. If the surface is relatively rough, this indicates that the acid is severely eroding the glass, or that some of them are still crystal-free. The process is characterized by the appearance of shiny crystals on the surface of glass formed under critical conditions. The main reason is that ammonia fluoride has almost run out. In order to achieve this state, many manufacturers have done many attempts and studies, but have not been able to overcome this difficulty.


2. Sandblasting technology


It uses the sand particles ejected from the spray gun at high speed to hit the glass surface, forming fine concave and convex surface, so as to achieve the effect of scattering light, light through the formation of hazy feeling. The surface feel of glass products produced by sandblasting process is rough. Because the glass surface is damaged, it looks like white glass on the light sensitivity of the original transparent glass.


The two processes are completely different. Frosted glass is more expensive than sandblasted glass, and the effect depends mainly on the needs of the user. Some unique glasses are not suitable for frost. From the point of view of noble pursuit, should choose the scrub. The sandblasting process can be done in a general factory, but the sanding process is not easy to do well.
