How to Choose a Trigger Sprayer for a Liquid Product?

A spray bottle is a plastic bottle that can artificially create fog. To put it simply, the high-pressure system sprays the liquid with extremely fine water particles. These tiny artificial fog particles can drift and suspend in the air for a long time, thereby forming a white mist-like spectacle, which is very similar to the effect of natural fog. A standard trigger sprayer is a mixture of tiny particles, which may be tiny droplets of water or paint, suspended in a gas such as air.

In a spray bottle, a liquid and a gas that can be sprayed in tiny particles are stored under pressure. In the past, a gas called chlorofluorocarbons was filled in aerosol cans, but we now know that these gases are harmful to the environment. Today's spray bottles have begun to use other kinds of gases. The hand trigger sprayer not only has the function of spraying, but also uses the principle of spraying liquid from the air, which will not cause harm to the environment.

The lotion trigger sprayer presents the lotion in the form of a spray, which can reduce the secondary pollution in the use of skin care products. The toner trigger sprayer has the functions of calming and soothing, moisturizing and nourishing, balancing oil control, lasting moisturizing, anti-itching, anti-bacterial and anti-oxidation.

Selection Factors for Trigger Sprayers

1. Start with chemistry

Are liquid chemicals compatible with trigger sprayers? Trigger sprayers are mostly made of plastics, including polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyoxymethylene (POM), LDPE and HDPE. These plastics formed with reinforced particles generally have good compatibility with various chemicals. Therefore, most plastic trigger spray bottles are popular in the market.

However, some trigger sprayers contain a rubber seal (NBR) in the piston and nozzle structure. Some polar solvents can damage this seal, and some aggressive chemicals can cause corrosion of the metal spring. Once you learn that the chemical is corrosive, it is necessary to contact the manufacturer to issue a bill of materials or arrange for sample testing.

2. Packaging and Shipping

How will you fill the product into the container? There are two types of trigger sprayers, do you want to make sure you choose a ready-to-use bottle, or does the sprayer attach to the outside of the bottle with a separate cap? Do you choose a hose trigger spray nozzle or a chemical resistant spray nozzle? To prevent misuse and leaks, some trigger sprayers feature locking latches, CR nozzles, and ratchet neck finish designs. You can consider whether these additional features are needed depending on the nature of the chemical and how it is transported.

3. The ideal volume of the sprayer output is

The amount of one squeeze depends on the product type. Work areas in commercial and industrial applications vary widely. For refillable trigger spray bottles used in cosmetics, even spraying can meet their needs.

4. Dip tube

There are two types of dip tubes used to trigger sprayers: rigid and flexible. The former are usually larger in diameter and are used in high output trigger sprayers. The latter should be slightly curved towards the container wall to maximize product dispensing.
